Izabela Stocka Bio1
Izabela has finished her Masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Distinction in 2020 where she studied with prof. Foyle. Still during her studies she was involved in many interesting projects both in and out of the UK- she had a chance of playing in such countries as Poland, France, Germany, Czech Republic, North Macedonia, Austria, Wales, England as well as given concerts in China. In 2018 she was nominated for the best performance of commissioned contemporary work by French-Canadian composer Jean Jacques Rosaz as a participant of Marie Cantagrill International Violin Competition and in 2019 – invited to Salzburg Summer Festival as well as accepted to Mozarteum Summer Academy where she was studying in class of Pierre Amoyal.

After graduating, Izabela continued working in the industry as both orchestra, chamber and solo musician. In March 2022 she took part in Soloist of the Year competition organised by Ernest Read Symphony Orchestra in London, United Kingdom and after semi-finals with Shostakovich 1st Violin Concerto and finals with Brahms Violin Concerto Izabela has been announced winner and had the opportunity of performing full Brahms Violin Concerto with mentioned orchestra in June. She was also a scholarship recipient of FAMES European Orchestral Performance Institute and made her appearance in Warsaw Philharmonic, Berliner Philharmoniker, Macedonian Philharmonic, St. John Smiths Square and St.Martin-in-the-Fields.

Izabela expresses great interest towards the modern and contemporary works in particular. In October of 2019 she was awarded 1st prize at Great Composers Competition with performance of late work by Dmitri Shostakovich- his Violin Sonata op.134. She has also dedicated her past chamber recitals to modern as well as contemporary Polish composers including pieces of Szymanowski, Weinberg as well as female composers so important to cherish such as Roxanna Panufnik and Grazyna Bacewicz.

Most recent performances of these took place in National Forum of Music in Wroclaw, Poland where she has performed Bacewicz Quartet for 4 violins as well as in Croydon Minster, UK, where she has been invited to perform Szymanowski’s beautiful Violin Sonata and his Romance consecutively with folk-style Rhapsody on Moldavian Themes by Mieczyslaw Weinberg.
Izabela believes modern and contemporary music takes an important part into shaping new wave of classical music and make it even more inclusive to people of different backgrounds, generations and nationalities.

Izabela is currently playing the 1831 Auguste Philippe Bernardel violin – instrument made in Paris, France.
